NEASC Today’s Agenda 8:00-9:00 Full-faculty meeting SIP Update NEASC Overview (Game plan and instructions for today) Standards Committee Work 9:00-10:30 Session I –Reading period –Develop a common understanding of the indicators 10:35-11:45 Session II: Collect evidence 12:45-1:30 Session III: Write and upload lesson plans 1 :30-3:00 Session IV: Collect evidence

NEASC NEASC Accreditation Standards Develop 2 and 5 year targeted plans to address our and needs. Collect evidence Analyze the evidence Assignment: write reports that state how well we do and do not meet these standards Self-Study Visiting Committee Gives an outside assessment using our reports, our evidence, and their observations. Goal: A better WHS Develop 2 and 5 year targeted plans to address our critical needs.

Creating Summaries and Finalizing Plans October PD – ½ day –Standards Committees review report and determine summary November PD –Steering Committee finalizes State of School Critical Strengths and Weakness December PD - ½ day –Standards Committees edit any reports that did not get approved and finalize evidence for March visit. –Steering Committee finalizes 2 and 5-year targeted plans based on Statement of School Critical Strengths and Needs

NEASC Objective #1: Set the bar. Given the self-study guides, each standard committee will develop a common understanding of the indicators for which they are responsible. Outcome: For indicators that are not easily quantifiable, standards committees will articulate a statement of what they understand to be adherence to the standard and record that in their “Common Understanding of Indicators” google doc.

NEASC Why? Some indicators are black-and-white –Curriculum Indicator 2 “the curriculum is written in a common format” Some are not –Curriculum Indicator 4 “There is clear alignment between the written and taught curriculum” Objective #1: Set the bar.

NEASC Outcome: For indicators that are not easily quantifiable, standards committees will articulate a statement of what they understand to be adherence to the standard and record that in their “Common Understanding of Indicators” google doc. What will it mean to say, “yes our written and taught curriculum align.”

NEASC Objective #2: Collect the Evidence Given the self-study guides, each standard committee will collect, or plan for how to collect, all of the evidence listed in section II of their self-study guide. Outcome: Evidence will either be –A. Collected and saved in the Standard Committee’s folder on the shared drive and marked as collected on the evidence spreadsheet –B. A point person from the Standard Committee will be identified to gather the evidence along with the staff member responsible for generating the evidence.

NEASC Objective #3: Collect Lesson Plans Given Session III, teachers will transpose a successful lesson plan to the lesson plan template and upload it to the NEASC lesson plan folder.

Teachers’ instructional practices support the achievement of the school’s 21st century learning expectations by: personalizing instruction engaging students in cross-disciplinary learning engaging students as active and self-directed learners emphasizing inquiry, problem-solving, and higher order thinking applying knowledge and skills to authentic tasks engaging students in self-assessment and reflection integrating technology
