Melodic Review

Terms Unison: Everyone singing exactly the same note. Harmony: At least two different notes together that blend. Dissonance: Notes together that clash. Let’s sing up the scale and find the harmonic and dissonant intervals.

Steps of the Major Scale Do Ti La So(l) Fa Mi Re Do “Scale” comes from the Italian word “Scala” which means stairs. Solfège (Do, Re, Mi) are moveable steps. They can start on any pitch and create a scale. Letter Names are fixed pitches. Starting on a different letter creates a different scale. C B A G F E D C
