-----REMOVED Tone Use of first person point of view Hostel 10 was newly constructed, so I consider myself to be very lucky! Hall 10 mess is also considered the best mess in the campus.

3. Tone Informal tone Students cheer for their hostel and other inmates in inter hostel events (like hooting for the hostel during orientation programmes) Each hall has a canteen where small parties can be organized  Students, especially first-years, have a lot of patriotism towards their hostels, and enjoy cheering for their hostels in inter-hall events.

3. Tone Surprising element Do not expect fancy buildings and lavish, luxurious rooms. Principle of least astonishment (POLA)  Even though these are the world famous IITs, hostels are like any other. Do not expect fancy buildings and lavish, luxurious rooms.
