What is food security? A situation when all people at all times have economic and physical access to nutritious food that… 1) meets their daily dietary requirements in order to maintain a healthy and active life. 2) is environmentally produced in some ways *It requires reliable food supply all the time. However, they (food supplies) can disrupt food production and the stability of food supply.

When does it happen? farmers and fishers can earn a fair income Healthy and safe food is produced Traditional foods are available all people are working together to create positive change in the food system

What are the main elements of food security? Availability of food Accessibility Utilization of food consumed

Who suffers from food insecurity? Poor people in urban and rural areas landless agricultural laborers Malnourished family members older persons Homeless/Indigenous people

Who are working towards Food Security? *They ensure the access to adequate amounts of safe and nutritious food for everyone in an environmentally sustainable way

My role - inform the city planners that they should a cover all aspects like - health, nutrition, education and employment should be secured for people who lives in the slums. * enhance their food security
