The Egyptian Pharaoh A pharaoh was worshiped as a god. He controlled all the land and the people.

Who were the pyramids built for? A pharaoh.

What is a pyramid? All pyramids were huge structures built to hold a royal tomb. Inside of the pyramid you can find poems, and stories on the walls.

Where were t he pyramids built? In the desert of course. The town was known as a pyramid city.

When were the pyramids built? Pyramids were only built during the time of the OLD KINGDOM BC – nearly 5000 years ago.

How were the pyramids made? All of the pyramids were built by hand. Blocks of stone were brought by boat.

Why did they stop building pyramids? Each pyramid had a city of workers to keep a watchful eye on it. Grave robbers still stole and destroyed royal tombs! Punishment for robbery was death, but tombs were still being robbed. Since the royal tombs were easy to find, pharaohs started to be buried in hidden locations.
