Task # 1 Read the handout – How did religious beliefs shape the life of Egyptians? Answer DBQs 1 – 3 using FULL SENTENCES

Belief in the Soul-a person’s soul would be judged after death: the righteous would be rewarded & the wicked would be punished -The god Osiris was the judge -Polytheistic* – the belief in many gods Afterlife-Pharaohs believed they were gods -They were buried in huge pyramids with objects that they could use in the afterlife. Mummification*-Bodies were preserved by being wrapped in cloth; this allowed the deceased to use their body in the next life.
