R EGIONAL E DUCATION R ESPONSIBILITIES Arrange accommodations for community Core Specialty rotations & include info on MEdTech Central (not Core FM or Integrated rotations). Accommodation utilities, supplies, furnishings, rental payments and services. Preceptor appointments & affiliation agreements. Standard travel allowances. Community preceptor stipends.

F AMILY M EDICINE C ORE R OTATION Handled by the Department of Family Medicine. The majority of the placements will be completed outside of Kingston in the smaller communities across Ontario. Placements are arranged through the various regional providers (ERMEP, ROMP, etc.). Arrangements and funding are NOT provided through the Regional Education office with the exception of funding for NOSM rotations.

A CCOMMODATIONS Shared with other medical learners. Furnished and completely stocked with kitchen supplies/utensils, etc. Linens (towels, bedding) - may wish to bring your own bedding and linens. Cleaning supplies, laundry facilities. Local phone service, basic cable TV, wireless high speed internet and parking. Smoking and pets are not allowed. L EARNER R ESPONSIBILITIES Washing all linens used during your stay. Cleaning the bathroom, bedroom, etc. Cleaning the kitchen including the fridge and discarding any items that may spoil. Taking out the garbage and recycling. Return keys at the end of the rotation. The next occupant will expect to find the accommodations neat and tidy!

T RAVEL R EIMBURSEMENT For mandatory core specialty rotations to and from regional communities (not FM). Cost for 1 return trip for each completed 2-week time period is available for reimbursement at our standard allowable amount (even 1-week Obs). Maintain your expenditure receipts but do not submit those to the Regional Education office. Submit your online travel reimbursement request at the end of the rotation, not before. R EGIONAL H OSPITAL R EQUIREMENTS Please check the regional hospital website for their specific requirements. Some require documents 4 weeks prior to start date (RE website also lists info needed). Fully completed hospital application form. Letter of Good Standing. Documented proof of current immunizations. Failure to submit all required documentation could result in the cancellation of your rotation !

F UNDING F OR E LECTIVE R OTATIONS Rotations in central & eastern Ontario of at least 4 weeks in length, are eligible for travel and accommodation funding through ROMP & ERMEP. ROMP: ERMEP: Submit an online application ideally 4 – 6 months prior to rotation start date (minimum 8 weeks). A Letter of Good Standing is required, which can be obtained through the UGME office. Expense Report & Evaluation must be completed.

C LERKSHIP T RAVEL P ROGRAM (CTP) Up to $1,500 in reimbursement for travel and accommodation expenses for a rotation at an Ontario AHSC that is 100km or more from Kingston. Available to med students in final 2 years of study. Minimum 2 week to maximum 12 week rotation. Available for one rotation per academic year. Funded by the MOHLTC and administered by HealthForceOntario Marketing and Recruitment Agency (HFO MRA). healthforceontario.ca/ctp
