CODING PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT GLOBAL COMPUTERS, INC

PROJECT STATUS Project has started 3 months Recruited four full-time and four quarter-time people for the dream team Trying to apply Six Sigma principles into the project Facing few problems in the executing stage

PROBLEMS/CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED BY PROJECT MANAGER Problem 1: The full-time members are all drivers and natural leaders, everyone not paying attention to details resulting in no actual works are done Problem 2: No team member that really understand how Six Sigma projects work and not aware of amount of process diagrams and data needed Problem 3: Six Sigma Training is not helpful Problem 4: Programmers focus only on paperwork, number crunching

Suggested Solutions Problem 1 Clarify goals and vision of the project Follow the schedule Submit weekly report to ensure everything on the right path Distribution of works, prevent interfering of other’s work

Suggested Solutions Problem 2 Verify project scope and requirements Retraining of Six Sigma

Suggested Solutions Problem 3 Online Six Sigma Training – reduces time and might be more interesting Motivate more people to attend Six Sigma Training Create awareness of importance of Six Sigma

Suggested Solutions Problem 4 Assign a documentation executive to prevent programmer concentrating in paper work Exchange ideas and experiences in order to get things done Try to communicate and interact with each other and promote co operations among members

Conclusion We will try to improve the overall process and working method so that development of this project will not be delayed.
