Presentation transcript:

LAB RULES  THOSE WHO DO NOT FOLLOW THE RULES WILL NOT SEW!  YOU MUST REMAIN CALM AND ORDERLY IN THE LAB OR THERE COULD BE ACCIDENTS!

“A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE.”  Tote trays are available in the cupboard to store your equipment and fabric.  Share a tote as a table.  All classroom equipment needs to be put back where you got it.

“RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS CLEAN UP MESSES THEY MAKE.”  Clean up your own area, including the floor, every day when leaving the class.  Return the numbered bobbin case to the bobbin case board each day.  Do your assigned clean up job each day.

“WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.”  You will receive an instruction/grading sheet for each project.  Read the instructions BEFORE asking for help.  As you complete each step, have the teacher check and grade that step BEFORE continuing to the next one.

“USE THE EQUIPMENT THE WAY IT WAS INTENDED.”  Flipping switches, running the foot control or using the machine without thread and fabric ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE! If you break the machine, you will be expected to pay for repairs.  Report a broken needle, a missing part, etc after roll call.  The first broken needle is free. Before you will be given another needle, you will need to tell the teacher how it got broken. Other broken needles will cost 50 cents.

“PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE.”  There are between students in each class, all of whom need help.  If you need help, come to the side table and wait PATIENTLY in line until I can help you.  If you have a problem with your sewing machine, just come straight to the front of the table and I will help you fix your machine.

“HONESTY’S THE BEST POLICY.”  NO SEWING AT HOME! You learn best by doing your own work on projects and assignments IN CLASS!  You must sew your projects, NOT YOUR FRIENDS. You don’t want to get a 0 because you had a friend sewing on your project. If you have any questions I will help you. ASK ME!

“DO NOT PASS GO OR COLLECT $200…GO DIRECTLY TO…”  Get the supplies out of the totes trays when you enter class each day. Then go directly to your seat by the time the tardy bell rings.
