Benefits of Digital Literacy Tracy Thibodeau ED 3211 – Introduction to Art Education

Digital Literacy: Can be incorporated in the Art curriculum at all grade levels.

Tell me how Digital Literacy is good for art students: Introduces them to computers. Computers play an important role in their future. Introduces them to the internet and . Allow them to explore their creativity.

Enhances Creativity: Students Can Improve Artistic Skills : Use animations, graphics and photography to enhance their artistic skills. Use digital cameras (images and video) for class presentations or projects. Allows students who are creative, but not necessarily artistic, to apply their creativity skills.

Use Software tools in art class such as: HTML, Photoshop 6.0, Sound Edit 16, digital cameras, I-movie, Flash, Windows Movie Maker, Clip Art

Through the internet students can: Share their artistic ideas with other students around the world. Enroll in online art courses. Explore topics for their art assignments. Practice their artistic skills through established software programs such as; Paint, Clip Art, Web Design. Use the Internet in Art Class

Appeals to: The Visual Learner Power point presentations can be made to by the Art Teacher to make the material more appealing to students.

Students love Digital Literacy Because It Is Fun
