Spotted seal Madalyn Timmons

Habitat Spotted seals live in coastal waters in the Pacific or Antarctic waters. They live around Alaska summer and winter. To rest it lays on big floating chunks of ice.

Image Spotted seals have scattered black spots on top of silver. When they are born they have soft wooly fur. They molt in 3-4 weeks to adult blubber.

Lunch! The Spotted seal eats small schooling fish, octopus, and shrimp. It can be eaten by polar bears in a sneak attack above it’s breathing hole. And guess what they eat penguins!!!

My zoo habitat Spotted seals would have a pool and a resting place. People could throw fish in at their meal time. I would swim with them whenever I could.
