POTUS Salary (Page 358) Effective January 1, 2001, the annual salary of the President of the United States was increased to $400,000 per year, including a $50,000 expense allowance. The president's salary is set by Congress, and under Article II, Section 1 of the United States Constitution, may not be increased or reduced during his or her current term of office. The increase was approved as part of the Treasury and General Government Appropriations Act (Public Law ), passed in the closing days of the 106th Congress.

Group Time! :-) I am going to place you into groups now. Activity today: I dentify the various responsibilities of Mr. Nolan and compare them with the duties of President Obama. List each office's job descriptions and allocate the amount of time each duty should require of their daily, weekly, monthly and yearly schedule. Write a weekly day-planner for each. Compare that day- planner with each member of the group's own schedule of the week.
