Toastmasters District Division B Realignment Time for a Change! February, 2010

Background InformationBackground Information  A group of 3-6 clubs is assigned to an Area. A group of areas is assigned to a Division. Several divisions comprise the District.  An Area Governor is assigned to each Area for the Toastmasters “year”, from July 1 – June 30.  Area Governors are responsible for visiting their clubs twice each year, ensuring Club officers are trained, and conducting Area speech contests (among other things).

WHAT IS REALIGNMENT?WHAT IS REALIGNMENT?  Annually, each Division revisits the assignment of Clubs to Areas  New Clubs and Closed Clubs must be considered  Areas should be as “balanced” as possible  New clubs/strong clubs/struggling clubs  Travel requirements  Most years, no changes are necessary; however, in certain years with a lot of “churn”, changes may be needed
