Location Nunavut is the largest of the 3 territories in Canada. Nunavut takes up 1/5 of Canada. Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec are the South of Nunavut. The Artic ocean, Hudson Bay, and Nourth West Territories are all bourders of Nunavut.

Capital City Iqaluit is the capital city of Nunavut. Newest capital city in Canada. Iqaluit has about 20 hours of sun light in the summer time. Iqaluit has about 4 hours of sunlight in the winter time. The Iqaluit government meets the government of Nunavut. Cannot be reached by car. Home of 4200 Canadians (2600 Inuit people.) Smallest capital of Canada. Martin Frobisher visited the Iqaluit in 1576 Iqaluit was called Frobisher bay in 1987.

Fast facts The national flower is the purple saxifrage Nunavut’s name means “our land” in the Inuit language of Inuktitut. Nunavut has little air, water, or land pollution. Nunavut’s Inuit believe in taking care of the land and the wildlife. Purple Saxifrage

Population Home of 25,000 Canadians. Most are Inuits.

Industry Has white fish and Artic Char. Has factories that package raw fish and meat.
