EGYV Locality Hub Meetings Purpose:- To proactively review the risk posed by those individuals involved in gang related activity and violence related offending and to have oversight to reduce the risks they present to the community. To provide support through appropriate interventions to reduce the risk that identified individuals pose (where not subject to statutory court orders) To provide preventative and diversionary intervention for those individuals most at risk of involvement in gang related activity and offending. To provide appropriate support to victims of gang related activity, specifically knife, gun crime or gang related serious violence. To prevent the trends developing further. To provide an overview of the impact of gang and violence related offending on the community. To provide an overview of current tensions in relation to gang and violence related activity in the community.

Successes… Supported a number of individuals to move away from the area with an appropriate support package Supported a number of individuals into full time employment Secured the compliance of key individuals identified as suspects and/or offenders in relation to serious offences What sort of things have we paid for….beds, emergency accommodation, emergency food, diversionary activities, work wear, identification etc

Emerging issues Significant number of adults and young people suffering from differing levels of PTSD Significant number of adults and young people who have witnessed or experienced high levels of violence involving weapons Significant number of individuals ‘self-medicating’ with cannabis etc Need for more responsive mental health support
