CYCLE PO4 Wet Chemistry In-situ Nutrient analyzer

Comparison of CYCLE PO4 data from Clinton River, Michigan to field blanks and laboratory measured water samples. Alliance For Coastal Technologies Results.

Chesapeake Biological Laboratory – One Month Deployment extended for a month.

Salinity and temperature time series for the latter part of the CBL time series. The vertical lines denote the days that rain was recorded. The rain event appears to divide the time series into two separate patterns.

Estimated chlorophyll concentration and dissolved oxygen time series from the CBL data. The chlorophyll and DO records are closely coupled throughout the time series suggesting that biological oxygen production was the primary control of the dissolved oxygen concentration during this time series

The CYCLE phosphate concentration and turbidity time series show similar periodicity, most likely tidal. The phosphate signal phase shifts with respect to the turbidity signal suggesting that both advective and local resuspension processes contribute to turbidity and phosphate concentrations

The CYCLE phosphate concentration and chlorophyll time series, with the chlorophyll data presented on a reversed vertical scale. Before the rain event, phosphate concentrations were generally extremely low. After the rain event, phosphate concentration spiked up and chlorophyll decreased to a minima. Subsequently, phosphate and chlorophyll were closely inversely coupled suggesting uptake driven kinetics controlled the phosphate concentration.
