ACTIVITY FRAMEWORK (DIAGRAM)

ILLUSTRATION Mainstreaming biodiversity into TLB operations Objective: To enhance the capacity of Tawana Land Board members and staff to mainstream biodiversity into their operations. Guide to Trainers The trainer will pose the following set of questions at the beginning of the lesson; trainer limits the trainees to a practical example within Ngamiland: How do the Tawana Land Board operations impact the biodiversity in Ngamiland District and in the Okavango Delta specifically? Identify situations where improper land allocation has affected biodiversity in Ngamiland Give examples from Ngamiland where zoning or lack thereof has adversely affected biodiversity. Working in groups, the trainees assess the operations and decisions of Tawana Land Board and match these with possible impacts on the biodiversity.

Cont’d Group work Activity 4 Describe the day to day operations of the Tawana Land Board and discuss the possible impacts of these operations on biodiversity. What mitigation measures need to be put in place to address negative impacts? How do you enhance positive impacts? Additional Questions Thank You
