March 31, February 11, 1650 René Descartes lived for 54 years.

René Descartes lived in a town known as La Haye, located in the south of France. Later he moved to a town named La Flèche to attend college. Life

Famous For René Descartes is famous for his use of the combination of algebra and geometry, to create “Cartesian Geometry.” But his main achievement was his philosophical writing, and his mind-set that math and science could explain all things in nature. Descartes was the first to explain matter and motion. With René Descartes use of algebra and geometry he was able to allow for a clearer explanation with nature and create a better understanding of matter and motion.
