When the pilgrims arrived in the land of Massachusetts Two indians from the Wampanoag tribe arrived in the spring to help the pilgrims. Squanto and Samoset came to the Plymouth colony to help the pilgrims They showed them how to plant squash pumpkin and corn

The history of Squanto

For a time the Pilgrims lived in peace with the Wampanoags. As more English colonists came to settle in Massachusetts, the new people were not friendly towards the Indians. They settled on more and more of their lands. The new settlers eventually forced the indians off their lands.
