Skip counting Skip counting is essential to counting money. Students will learn to count by 5’s and 10’s and then alternately by 5’s and 10’s.

Adding Subtracting and counting Money Students will be taught and practice the algorithms and protocols for adding and subtracting money. Regrouping skills will be necessary for this.

Adding and subtracting and counting money

Money is a tough concepts for primary students. Teaching Money is tough Money is a tough concepts for primary students. Teaching the concepts must be done in a systematic manner beginning with coin values, to adding by skip counting, to adding with algorithms. Working with money is possibly one of the most practical and difficult subjects students will deal with.
