Prior Park Award The award is aimed at pupils in Year 5 & 6 and is designed to provide enrichment and challenges beyond the curriculum. We believe that this award can transform the learning experience of pupils as well as provide life skills and leadership skills which are essential in todays competitive career market. Time The Units will be delivered on Saturday mornings throughout the term over a two year period.

It will encourage children to : develop life skills. develop self esteem in the face of adversity. promote a positive and knowledgeable response towards personal health and well being. develop social skills, for example, learn to co-operate with others and respect the needs of others. extend their personal horizons through greater appreciation and understanding of the world and its peoples around them. understand the need for sustainable relationships between people and their environment. enhance practical problem solving and team work skills. take responsibility for their actions.

Reward The course will consist of a series of events that will build a portfolio of achievements leading to bronze, silver or gold awards. However, in the first year, Year 6 children will be awarded a Prior Park Award. Assessment Assessment will be ongoing throughout each unit. Children will also be encouraged to evaluate their performance. For each unit each child will be able to achieve points in each of these areas. Points vary depending on the length of time spent on a Unit. Listening & Contribution Leadership, Perseverance Team Work, Skill. The children will complete a Prior Park Award Passport. Over two years the maximum points which can be achieved is – 250 points = bronze points = silver 350 – 400 points = gold
