WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN INNOVATING Dr. Anne Snowdon – May 8, 2015

INNOVATION IS A TEAM SPORT: IT IS HARD, EVERYONE HAS A ROLE TO PLAY, IT IS HARD, EVERYONE HAS A ROLE TO PLAY, IT IS ABOUT ENGAGING PEOPLE, CREATE A COMPELLING VISION UNIFY AGENDAS SO EVERYONE CAN GET BEHIND IT LISTEN A LOT!

INNOVATION REQUIRES CHAMPIONS ; THOSE CHAMPIONS MAY MOVE ON MID PROJECT NEED TO CULTIVATE CHAMPIONS TO BUILD MOMENTUM

TIMING IS EVERYTHING NEED TO MANAGE DELAYS, PIVOT AROUND THEM, MAKE THE TIMING WORK FOR THE TEAM…

TECHNOLOGY FAILURE… INEVITABLY THERE WILL BE CHALLENGES WITH COMPATIBILITY, INTEROPERABILITY, CONNECTIVITY, TRAINING ETC.

COMMUNICATION MATTERS.

.CHANGE MEANS TACKLING INDIVIDUALS AND SYSTEMS TOGETHER.

AVOID THE TYRANNY OF PERFECTION STRIVE FOR PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION

.INNOVATION ISN’T JUST ABOUT GOOD IDEAS IT IS ABOUT EXECUTION CHANGE MANAGEMENT. GREAT IDEAS DONE WELL STILL FAIL IF THE INNOVATION ISN’T ADOPTED AND SCALED.

LEADERSHIP IS A MUST HAVE, NOT A “NICE TO HAVE”. AND LEADERS COME FROM THE MOST UNEXPECTED PLACES.

THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS, BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO FAIL (AND THAT’S A FAILURE TO LEARN FROM WHAT YOU DO). “I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” -Michael Jordan

EVALUATE IMPACT OFTEN TO DEFINE PROGRESS FEEDBACK IS THE KEY TO MEASURING SUCCESS INSPIRES THE TEAM

THANK YOU
