xxx July, 2007Peretz Feder –Unfortunate news. On 26 April, after three Sponsor Ballot re- circulations and a 99%approval ratio (136 Approve, 2 Disapprove), P802.16g/D9 was submitted to RevCom. –On June 5th, the approval request was rejected by the IEEE-SA Standards Board, upon RevCom's advice. –The core reason for the rejection was that some SB voters submitted comments directly to the Working Group instead of using the IEEE- SA's myBallot system. –Chair requested advice how to address satisfy RevCom's concerns but no clear answer provided. –Chair requested assignment of a RevCom "mentor" to provide feedback and assurance that the future steps will be satisfactory. Geoff Thompson volunteered. –The disapproval letter provided some directions on how to proceed and mainly calls for another recirculation ballot where all comments and responses use the myBallot system for submitting to RevCom. –Next chance for RevCom review of g draft is September. This delay will make the base standard more than three years old and may need to address the rule prohibiting amendments after three years g/D9 – Messed up Situation Future SB members – Learn a lesson from this
