Game of the Week  Goal is to highlight the lesser watched sports and to increase attendances to them and all others  Want to honor all the teams for their dedication, hard work, and success  Create a positive atmosphere

Scheduling  Print schedules for every team in that season  Ask around (coaches and players) for the best rivalries or preferred matchups  Find best games for as man as possible  Pick games for the rest  Conform with Athletic Director, get his opinion  the coaches the date

Example

Advertising  Get the info on the announcements  Decorate the display case in the commons with team related gear  Make poster for each team for their game of the week  Hang poster up in commons for everyone to see  Make power point slide with info and to AD so its on the TV  Make an Ad on word doc, print, copy about 40, and place at lunch tables the day of the event

Power Point Example

Ad Example

Poster Example

Goodie Bags  Pick out food from Costco  Make purchase order  Take food and put together goodie bags  Give Coach or Captain the bags to give to the whole team  Only make enough for the varsity athletes and a couple coaches

Miscellanies  Spread the Word  Call for a “Black, Gold, or Maroon Out”  Attend the game yourself  Get leadership students to attend, set a example  Create a good cheer section

Future Games  Prepare for the next game a week before it takes place  Repeat the advertising slide and make goodie bags  Get help from other students in class to make posters

Winter and Spring Sports  Repeat the same process just with the next seasons sports. Schedule all the games before the season starts.

Playoff Parade  We want to honor out playoff bound teams and athletes  We get the drum line and parade around the school with the athletes holding posters with their sport  Classes come out into the hallway, outside, or commons and cheer everyone on

Parade Example Paper

Tips  For big teams, like football and track, don’t make goodie bags  Fall sports will be a little overwhelming because there are so many teams  Winter is easy because there are fewer teams but have to schedule around winter break  Communication is key. Communicate to the student body, coaches, athletes, Activities Director and Athletic Director.
