18 October New Encroachment Partnering Tool - 10 USC 2684a Authorizes military departments to sign agreements with state or local governments or private conservation groups to: –limit use or development of property near military bases –preserve habitat to relieve environmental restrictions on military operations May acquire real estate interests for these purposes, and DOD can share the costs Operations & Maintenance funds authorized; no dedicated funding sources Does not authorize land acquisition for active military use
