Running a Meeting Michael Todd Course Area: Chapter Leadership Block 3 – 1:00-2:20 “Learn how to make an agenda for a chapter meeting and CEC, and how to execute them. Additionally, explore ideas to add fun and fellowship to your meetings.”

Meeting Agendas The best way to keep you and everyone else on track. All types of agendas for all types of meetings. Range from formal meeting agendas to informal list of topics.

Meeting Agendas They keep the same basic pattern. General idea: keep it simple! Three major parts: –Reports –Business –Activity

CEC’s Get with your Leadership Team to create an agenda for your next chapter meeting, plan for upcoming events. Make sure committee chairs and officers are prepared for their reports. Answer the following questions as a team: –WHY should your members attend the meeting? –HOW are you going to get them there?

Execution Present the Agenda –Projector, white board, handout. Have multiple people speak, such as event chair for their event, a vice chief about the next Lodge event, etc. Make sure everyone talking is prepared with information, flyers, and whatnot.

Fun & Fellowship Two ways to make your meetings great –Where: pick a place outside of your normal meeting spot –What: Include an activity that is hands on or interesting Examples, Ideas?

Games Great way to end your Chapter Meeting –Team building opportunity (If you’ve ever done COPE – think of that kind of things) –Classical games –Mix it up – avoid doing the same thing every meeting –Newer arrowmen may enjoy simpler games

QUESTIONS? Tarp Game – Valuable Item game
