California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE) In California, all high school students must pass a test to earn a high school diploma. The test is called the CAHSEE. The test has two parts: ● English-Language Arts ● Mathematics ● Students will first take the test in the Spring of 10th grade ● If you don’t pass the test in 10th grade, you have two chances to take it and pass it in 11th grade. ● If you don’t pass the test in 11th grade, you have up to five times to take the test in 12th grade.
