“EVERYTHING STUCK TO HIM” By: Raymond Carver About: The story of a father telling his daughter a story from when she was a baby. This story shows a small peak into the life of a “boy and girl” raising a baby together. During this time of parenthood, we see “the boy” make a choice that could change his future. Story within a story  As we read…write questions that you have about the story.

RESPOND “Cultural attitudes are adapting accordingly. Sixty-two percent of the public, and 72 percent of adults under 30, view the ideal marriage as one in which husband and wife both work and share child care and household duties…”(Angier 5-6) Angier, Natalie. “The Changing American Family.” New York Times 25 November 2013: Print. Noting that “the ideal marriage” is underlined, analyze/explain what you believe to be the ideal marriage.

IDEAL MARRIAGE

QUESTIONS? What questions did you have while reading? Questions I had:  What happened to the mother/girl?  What is the purpose of the weather throughout the story (symbols)?  Did the “about the author” section connect to the story? If so, how?
