Objective: You will evaluate multiple perspectives in deciding whether the Mexican/American War was an act of U.S. Imperialism. You will understand the causes of the U.S. Civil War in order better to understand the effects. Students examine the effects of the Civil War and Reconstruction and of the industrial revolution, including demographic shifts and the emergence in the late nineteenth century of the United States as a world power.
