Class Rules  1. Follow directions quickly.  2. Raise your hand for permission to speak.  3. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat.  4. Respect yourself, respect others, respect your school.  5. Make smart choices.

Discipline Program - ClassDojo  Students earn “scholar dollars”  Spend “scholar dollars” in class store  I would love donations for the class store

Daily Homework  Will start September 9  Every day except Friday  Always on green paper and marked as “Homework” with the date given and due date  Part of math grade  Home reading is marked on the back of the homework page each day (home reading is part of their reading grade)

Daily Homework  Corrected and returned – Score 1 to 3, students can correct their mistakes and return for a higher grade  I will send a missing homework report at midterm or by request  I have extra copies of homework pages until the end of the term  If you have trouble with the instructions, write me a note and I’ll make sure your student gets some extra help to finish

Home Reading  PTA/Ken Garff Road to Success program  20 minutes every day, 5 -7 days/week  PTA incentives, drawing for 1 bicycle each term  Listen to your student read aloud to make sure they are reading on their level

What I Need From You  Important forms REQUIRED:  Updated blue information card (so we can contact you)  Yellow emergency card (so I can contact you if there is an emergency)  Computer Acceptable Use (can be done online – your child will not be allowed to use school computers without this form)  Keep your phone numbers updated  Help your child get to school on time  Please be aware of what your child is bringing to school - no toys, electronics*, etc.  Help your child get a good homework and reading habit  Come to parent/teacher conferences (November , January )  Donations: if you would like to help us out, we can always use Kleenex, wet wipes, paper cups and paper plates (I have enough hand sanitizer to last all year)

*Electronics Policy  Cell phones and other electronics are NOT ALLOWED in class  If your child needs to have a cell phone at school, it must be TURNED OFF during school hours and used only before and after school (not during recess or lunch)  Due to the risk of theft (yes, it has happened), I strongly recommend that if your student needs to have a cell phone at school, that they bring it to me in the morning and I will lock it up for them and return it at the end of the day.
