Some basic information: School team:2 classes/30 students of 15 – 18 year old students and 2 teachers Duration of project: 1 year (realization: 6 months)

Description of Project Students skills required at school + public questionaire: The need of Community in Žiar nad Hronom:  to build up friendly relationships among children and teenagers of different social health, and national backgrounds  to understand the nature of minorities and needs of disabled children  to provide tutoring to young people studying at local primary school and children attending local kindergarten through funny activities and games

Activities and games Students´activities and games towards pupils and children:  “Helping hands”,  “We are not different”  “Painted Faces”,  working out the prepared worksheets  Discussions  Videos  Live Libraries (Roma people)

The goal of students´activities  Tutoring how to be tolerant towards people from different cultures, social backgrounds, or disabled pupils and students because of the differences felt among them. There is the real need of community to build up tolerance through understanding the differences between especially Roma and traditional cultures in our community.

List of activities  End of May - Introduction to service learning and its goal; discussion, and brainstorming  September - Dividing students into groups and functions Cooperation with kindergartens and primary schools in Žiar nad Hronom, Roma people as “Live Libraies”  September – December - Communication with local and regional media

List of activities  October - Preparation of documents, leaflets, hand out leaflets, preparation of presentations, worksheets  Starts in October - Preparation of Project social communication on facebook with partner school  October and November - funny activities and games  December - Performances – musical and art performances practised before

Evaluation of goals  Questionnaire for students and pupils  feedback – self-reflection – pupils will fill the feedback questionnaire,  students will write final essays and fill up the questionnaires  final report/article for local and school newspapers.  For children in the chosen kindergarten students will prepare feedback worksheets and discussion to check out the feedback.
