Welcome To Third Grade Mrs. Heaser and Miss Rachel Fehr ISU PDS Student

A Little Background about Me

PBIS Rules along with the Character Pillars we are: Safe, Respectful, & Responsible Character Pillars Trustworthiness Fairness Caring Citizenship Respect Responsibility

PBIS Reward System The students may earn individual (raffle) tickets. They may use these tickets to “buy” things from the classroom store. As a building, we give out character grams. Students may earn individual “grams” from any teacher in the building for exemplifying one or more of the character counts traits : Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsible, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship We will have group rewards as well. Certain times of the year students need a little extra incentive to check their behavior, so the class will receive points for earning a special prize, extra recess, pizza party, dance off, p.j. day, etc.

Grading Scale A = 90% to 100% B = 80% to 89% C = 70% to 79% D = 60% to 69% F = 59% and below ***Skills will be assessed by a plus, check, or a minus. If a grade is BELOW A “C”, students are given the option to “correct for credit” and receive partial credit. I will mark on their paper re- do for a higher grade. They will not receive the total points possible, but a percent of the total number they corrected will be added to their final grade. It is their responsibility to get it turned in again. I will be using Skyward “grade book program” this year. (Family Access)

Assignment Notebook Is a great communicator! It is your student’s responsibility to ask for your signature daily. Your signature tells me that they have completed their work. No signature tells me that they have not completed their assignments No signature tells me that they have not completed their assignments. It also helps you, as a parent, to help your child study for upcoming tests & double check for homework completion.

PARCC We will take the PARCC in March to April (please do not plan any trips during this time other than the last full week of March for Spring Break) We MAP test 3 times a year as well as take a written assessment for the district in writing 3 times a year.

Birthday Treats Birthdays will be celebrated on the student’s birthday if it is during the school year. If they have a summer birthday, we will celebrate their half birthday. Please keep in mind that we are in school, and this is not the time or place for your child’s birthday party. No treats will be allowed this year due to severe allergies. We will recognize and celebrate in the classroom with singing, recognition on the morning announcements, and special little gifts from Mrs. Heaser. The only exception will be our holiday classroom parties and then all snacks need to be individually packaged and safe from the food allergies. The snacks will be okayed before the class parties to ensure all students are safe.

Communication Ways to communicate:  Assignment Notebook---posted daily on my webpage  Note with your child  Call the office before 3:00 at  Call me at home (I’m in the phone book)  (Please before 9:00 p.m.)  me:  (please do not me about a change in plans at the end of the day….call the office!!!)  Website: -Teacher’s Websiteshttp:// -Teacher’s

Our District’s moto this year is: “Cultivating Minds” It’s a great day to watch our bulldogs grow.
