Name of Museum Pharaoh Tutankhamen (also known as King Tut) did barely anything for the Egyptians and had little impact on Egypt. The only reason he is famous is because his tomb was not as touched as other tombs. Historians and archeologists do not know very much about King Tut’s life. King tut was Pharaoh from bc. King tut became Pharaoh at the age of nine, and died at the age 18. He had multiple birth defects, including a cleft palate and a bad leg. His reason of death is unknown, for he suddenly just died with no record at all. Later in the 20th dynasty, Ramses VI built his tomb right above King Tut’s tomb, almost erasing him from history. His tomb was not entered again until 1922 by Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon. When Howard Carter found King Tut’s tomb, they saw art with amazing detail, and artifacts that looked like they took time and effort. Looking at the artifacts in King Tut’s tomb, archeologists can tell that Egypt was a civilization by the complex art in his tomb. Introduction Back to Room 1

Name of Museum Looking at three artifacts from King Tuts tomb, we can tell that Ancient Egypt was a complex civilization. The first artifact is the canopic shrine. The canopic shrine is a great example of the complex skill of the artisans because of the amazing detail of the glass and gold. The second artifact is the death mask. The death mask is another great example of the artisan’s great attention to detail because of the incredible realistic face of King Tut and the decorations of glass and gold on the mask. The last artifact is the golden throne. The golden throne shows the beauty of the tomb’s artifacts, for it is decorated with gold and multiple colors of glass, and shows the amazing skill of the artisans.
