Geography The capital is Springfield. It is in the Midwest region. 3 Major Cities are Chicago, Aurora, and Rockford. The climate is warm, cool, and rainy The Major Rivers are Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois.

 The year Illinois was admitted to the Union was December 3 rd,  Illinois was the 21 st state. History The Great Chicago fire destroyed much of the city.

 The industries are education, healthcare, and retail trade and the manufacturing products are chemicals, machinery, and processed foods.  The farming products are corn, soy beans, hay, wheat, rye oats, asparagus, cabbage, beans, and fruits.

 The name of the Governor is Patrick Quinn. POLITICAL SCIENTIST The name of the Lieutenant Governor is Sheila Simon. The names of the U.S. Senators are Richard Durbin, and Mark Kirk. The number of U.S. Representatives are 18.
