Junior Achievement 7.1 “Thanks for the Memories”

“Success is simple. Do what’s right, the right way, at the right time.”

Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?

How would you judge your performance at JA BizTown?

Were you successful? Why or why not?

Today you will be evaluating how well your business team performed at JA BizTown.

Please turn to page 93 in your student workbook. As a business team, you should complete the Quality Business Assessment. Select one member of your team to present your findings to the class.

In addition to the checklist, please write down your responses to the following questions…

Did you operate a quality business?

What is the one thing that you are most proud of in terms of the way you operated your business?

What unexpected things did you experience during the day?

What was the most significant problem, challenge, or dilemna you faced as a business? How did you solve the problem?

What changes would you make to improve your business if you were to go back to JA BizTown for another visit?

It’s always a good idea to write a letter to thank the sponsor of your business (Jack in the Box, SeaWorld, etc.) for supporting your experience at JA BizTown.

After all, they have donated lots of money, time, and expertise to create a mini store in which you worked.

A business letter is a more formal kind of letter used to communicate with a company or organization.

Let’s look at the elements of a business letter.

Please work with your team to write a business letter to your sponsor. You can thank your company for their generous donation, the time they spent working with Junior Achievement, their interest in educating you for the careers you will one day have, and…

…for serving their community!

They would probably love to hear about your experience at JA BizTown.
