1. Task Definition What do I need to do? First define the job. Then identify the information needed. What is the job exactly? ** When is it due? This is very important so you can judge how much time you have to spend finding the information you need.

2. Information Seeking Strategies What can I use to find the information I need? Brainstorm all possible sources. Select the best source. You need more than one source for your job. Use a resource checklist for various places to check.
