My name is Heather DiMaggio and I have the honor of being your child’s teacher this year. I’d like to tell you a little about myself:  This is my 18 th year teaching (15 years in San Leandro and now 3 in Brentwood).  I’ve taught 2 nd, 3 rd, and 4 th with the majority of my time in 4 th grade.  I was Teacher of the Year in 2011 for the San Leandro Unified School District.  I’ve been involved in education on all levels from the state, county, district, and in the classroom.  I have two daughters: a fourth grader and a second grader, both of which attend Ron Nunn.  We bought a home in Oakley about 5 years ago, but moved here full time 3 years ago.

 Please keep all work completed for the trimester in the binder.  Return the binder organized on a daily basis, along with any workbooks that have been taken home.  Homework will be given daily.  If absent or confused, please visit class website.

There is so much curriculum this year that everyday is critical for your child to be here. Students can fall behind very quickly. Students who are 5 or more minutes late will receive a tardy. If they are late they are required to get a late slip from the office before they come to class.

New Common Core Standards. Students will be graded on a 1-4 scale. There are no longer letter grades.
