Mousetrap Vehicle Design By Jack Comsa

What it’s supposed to look like:

Supplies 1 Mousetrap 4 Eye Hooks 4 CDs or DVDs 2 soda can openers that go on the top (From the 12oz Pepsi cans. Electrical Tape Fish wire Paper Clip Appliances: Drill Pliers Wood Piece

SuppliesPros Cons MousetrapWith the right push, the spring could work great and be easy to load. The spring could do the right push on the mechanism and send the car to the exact location. Loading the spring can be dangerous. And the trap maybe couldn’t have enough power to push the mousetrap vehicle to the location it needs to go Or, you could have too much power and miss the location needed that is destine to go to. Eye HooksThe eye hooks can fit very good and secure my vehicles wheels/ whole mechanism and secure first place. The eye hooks could be secured too tightly on the edges of the mousetrap, causing it to break, or you could bend the eye hooks too out of place and ruin them. CD’s/ DVD’sThey can be used a good wheels and can move great on smooth land. If I test the vehicle on a bumpy surface, the wheels will not move correctly and the vehicle will go nowhere.

PensThe pens could stabilize the vehicle’s wheels and make them roll. The pens insides, or the ink holders can break easily and if they do, the vehicle is ruined. Paper clipThe paper clip is used as a good measuring tool. The clip might fall, or twist too much, thus making it break. Pen ink HolderIt is used as an axel to the wheel. Well the “axel” is very fragile, so I have to be careful so the axel doesn’t break and ruin the vehicle. Wood PlankThe wood Plank modes the system, and stops it. The plank might not fall, sending my vehicle of the place were it needs to go.

Components Break System: Attach a small wood piece to the bottom, when pressure applied the wood piece will come down and stop the front two wheels. Starting System. When the mouse trap snaps down, the force of the trap snaps, starting the mousetrap vehicle. Wheels: The wheels will be CD’s and will go on the axels. They will roll once the mousetrap snaps. Steering/ Speed Control: Weight will help the speed and steering by guiding it to the tracks. Energy: The snap traps will give it an ultimate push.

Test Plan Once finished, I will test the vehicle on a flat surface, while putting down oppsticals to test all the systems, mainly the breaks.
