What is a Multiple meaning Word Multiple Meaning Words are words that have several meanings depending upon how they are used in a sentence.

1.ball The girls at the ball wore beautiful gowns. A mirrored ball reflected sparkling light everywhere.

2. bank You can get some cash at the bank. It is a building at the bank of the river.

3. bark A squirrel was climbing up the bark of a tree. My dog started to bark when he saw it.

4. bill We took our parrot to the vet when he hurt his bill. My mom paid the bill with cash.

5. bit I bit into a delicious pie. It was so good, I asked for a bit more.

6. box My big brother is learning how to box. He keeps his gloves and other gear in a box.

7. brush My dog gets burrs in her fur when she runs through the brush. I will use a brush to get them out.

8. can Can you get rid of this trash, please? The trash can is right over there.

9. count Count Dracula’s castle was home to a lot of bats. There were so many bats, no one could count them all.

10. country My grandparents came from France a country in Europe. Now they live on a small farm out in the country.

11. date I remember the first time I ate a dried date. The date was May 3, 2007.
