READING A GRADUATED CYLINDER Instructions and Practice

It’s all about the MENISCUS The surface of the water in a graduated cylinder is generally curved due to the shape of the cylinder. This curved surface is called the MENISCUS. A graduated cylinder is designed to be read at eye level, at the bottom of the meniscus curve.

Check the unnumbered marks Check the numbered marks to see how many sections there are and what they measure. Sometimes you have to estimate a measurement between two marks. What are the volume measurements of these graduated cylinders?
