The IT Professional Outlook: Strategic Planning Assumptions By 2010, six out of 10 people affiliated with the IT organization will assume business-facing roles around information, process and relationships (0.7 probability). Through 2010, 30 percent of top technology performers will migrate to IT vendors and IT service providers (0.8 probability). By 2010, IT organizations in midsize and large companies will be at least one-third smaller than they were in 2000 (0.7 probability). By 2010, 10 percent to 15 percent of IT professionals will drop out of the IT occupation (0.7 probability).
