What do you want to be when you grow up? Careers and Community Helpers K-1 Webquest Lynn Fuller -

What do you want to be when you grow up?

What do you want to be when you grow up? Watch recorded episodes of “Shanna’s Show” from Playhouse Disney. For a list of episodes, visit: TVY&partner_id=DISN Visit Shanna’s Show on Disney’s website to view selected episodes, play a game, and print pictures to color: Visit Ben’s Guide to your neighborhood to find out about some of the jobs people do around your neighborhood:

What do you want to be when you grow up? Choose a job that your group would like to learn more about. You may choose one from an episode of “Shanna’s Show,” from “Ben’s Guide to Your Neighborhood,” or another job your group likes (be sure to check with your teacher first). Your group is going to make a show, just like Shanna does. Three people in your group will draw a picture of something that will help do your job. The fourth person in your group will draw a finished picture of a person doing the job that your group learned about.

Click one of the pictures on the right to learn more about jobs in your neighborhood or about a job on Shanna’s Show. This is what your group will do:

What do you want to be when you grow up? The teacher will scan student pictures and insert them in the following pages to produce a show for each group of four students to present to their classmates, sharing the job they learned about. If available, an LCD projector should be used to make the large group presentations.
