FSI central unit housing the reference interferometer Measurement interferometer Collimator Reflective target Optical fibre Radiation tests – FSI unit Absolute distance measurement 8 channels expandable to 100 Uncertainty (95%) = 0.5 µm/m Traceable Measurement distance: 0.2 – 20 m Fibre length (20 m) extendable

UNDER ASSEMBLY AND TESTS Fiber to FSI unit Measurement equipment

Targets test bench: Measurement equipment UNDER ASSEMBLY AND TESTS

Collimator test bench: Radiation tests – test equipment UNDER ASSEMBLY AND TESTS

Irradiation of the samples in Fraunhofer: TID10MGy for targets, TID1MGy for collimators and fibres Proposed TID steps values: 100kGy, 500kGy, 1MGy, 4MGy, (7MGy?, other proposition),and 10MGy – final decision? Will it be be possible to merge our campaign with any other for 7MGy step? The CERN FSI unit can stay at Fraunhofer up to 12 October (linked with current shedule of other team). Do the detailed irradiation start date is defined to be able make 1MGy before this date? First 3 steps (100kGy, 500kGy, 1MGy) measurements may be performed at Fraunhofer Is there a possibility to send the samples to CERN for measurements of 4MGy, (7MGy)? Using eg. UPS fast mail camples can be sent and return within 4 days CERN personnell plane to come for the first week of irradition - will the irradiation start date is defined in detail? Need to book flight tickets, hotel... Estimated cost of campaign? Radiation tests – summary/questions

Irradiation of the samples in Fraunhofer: Additional samples to add and measure: 4x 5m fibre cords (terminated with connectors FC/PC+E2000, volume: small roll diameter 15cm) Several connectors for tests Accessibility of measurement equipment at Fraunhofer: Fibre power meter (FC/PC, E2000-APC) Thermovision camera Radiation tests – summary/questions
