+ Final Project Door Painting Painting Level One

+ Requirements: Painting 1 Final Door Painting Mrs. Goff PURPOSE: Incorporate all the tools & techniques you have learned so far in painting this semester to create a successful, imaginative and creative work of art Create a painting that includes the use of an interesting door used as an aperture or opening to another world The other side of the door may be a completely different world, or it may be the view outside your front door. BEFORE YOU BEGIN: An interesting door will be provided in class, however if you wish to use a different one, the door must be unusual or out of the ordinary. CONCEPT: Is the door the central figure in your painting or is it part of the background? Is the world you paint through the door realistic or abstract? (i.e. Land vs. space, water vs. space, above water vs. below water) Where is your light source coming from? ( inside or outside the door?) Distance: How will you show depth in your painting? (overlap objects, atmospheric perspective, is the inside brighter than the outside?) CREATE at least 2-3 sketches which demonstrate your use of… Composition Light source Depth & dimension using overlapping &/or use of perspective

+ Rubric Final Door Project Rubric /25 Created two completely different spaces/environments, which contrast each other in an interesting way /25Composition: Placement of door balances the artwork. Size of door is appropriate to the rest of the space/environment. /25Light Source: Painting is lighter in some areas to show a light source /25Depth & Dimension: Student showed distance by overlapping objects & having objects further away be smaller /100 Notes:
