Educational Programming: Collins Closure  Craig-Houghton Elementary is pursuing a STEM initiative for 3rd through 5th grade.  Wilkinson Gardens Elementary and Craig-Houghton Elementary participate in the Math-Science Partnership with Georgia Regents University.  Current fine arts offerings at Collins Elementary will follow students to the receiving schools.  6-8 Students at W.S. Hornsby K-8 and Murphey Middle will have the opportunity to perform instrumental music and earn high school mathematics credit.  6-8 students at W.S. Hornsby K-8 will have the opportunity to participate in a STEM partnership with Stanford University sponsored by the Louise Tarver Jackson Foundation. Staffing Plan: Collins Closure Every effort will be made to ensure that every employee with satisfactory performance will be placed in another comparable position within the school system. This decision will be made on the basis of district enrollment patterns. Personnel will follow students to the extent possible. In cases where limited opportunities exist within these particular schools, staff members will be placed in comparable positions across the school system. As these decisions are made, staff members will be kept informed. Facility Plan: Collins Closure Decommission (June 2014)  Maintain the building and site as if in use for the period of one year.  During the first year, develop a long term plan for site utilization.  Establish a community advisory group to support the planning process.  Revise the RCSS 5 Year Facility Plan submitted to the Georgia Department of Education.
