Human Resources Strategic Initiative The goal of the HR initiative is to foster an environment where CCSNH is an employer of choice and works to continuously improve employee engagement through enhanced communication One of four strategic initiatives that the Board of Trustees asked the Chancellor to focus on as part of the 2014 Strategic Plan 4

HR: What is an Employer of Choice? 5 Fortune defines a “Best Company to Work For” as: A place where employees: Trust the people they work for; Have pride in what they do; and Enjoy the people they work with A place where employers: Achieve organizational objectives Work with employees who give their best Work together as a team in a trustful environment We need your help to define it for CCSNH and will get your feedback in the next part of our agenda.

HR: “Employer of Choice” Initiative Team focused on simultaneously setting the stage for continuous improvement by creating a process for more regular feedback and process/system improvements. 1.Initiating an employee engagement/climate survey across CCSNH 2.Redesigning Sysnet to become a home for transparent internal communications and information about CCSNH and each of the seven colleges 3.Identifying system processes that need to be modified to achieve efficiency and consistency, and recommending ways to share internal and external best practices 7
