The Laboratory Exam

1. Solutions Know how to identify acids and bases with litmus paper. Acids turn blue litmus paper red. Bases turn red litmus paper blue. Your lab exam will include identifying unknown solutions as acids or bases.

2. Density Know how to determine the density of a regular or irregular object, or a liquid. Apply the formula density = mass/volume. Understand which when to apply the water displacement method. Your lab exam will include measuring the density a regular or irregular object, or a liquid.

2. Density Use the ruler to find the volume of a regular object. For irregular objects and a liquid, find the volume in mililiters.

3. Electricity Know how to power a light bulb or fan with a battery and wires. Think of the classical set-up of a circuit:

3. Electricity Also a parallel circuit: Your lab exam will include having to power a resistor in either a series or parallel circuit.
