Don’t just tell me… Show me!

The Centurion ( Luke 7:1-10 ) …was hurting because someone he loved was dying. Jesus cared. Real faith and understanding shows itself in humility.

The widow ( v ) …was hurting because someone she loved was dead and she was alone. Oh, how Jesus cared! When Jesus saw pain, He took care of it no matter what the cost.

John the Baptist ( v18-35 ) …was hurting because he was discouraged and doubts had arisen. The Lord deals with different people in different ways, and always works even bad things out for our good.

The Woman ( v36-50 ) …was hurting because she had seen her own sinfulness, and the glory and love of Jesus. She was an embarrassment to everyone but our Lord.

KEY POINTS 1.People who hurt don’t all need to be dealt with in the same way. We need to seek God’s wisdom. James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

KEY POINTS 2.We need to do something. There are hurting people everywhere- they are seen only by people with caring, sensitive hearts! 3.You will never be in a place or situation where God does not care about you and for you.

KEY POINTS 4.If we are going to live for Jesus, we must act like Jesus- see the hurting and help them.
