WP1 WP1 - Tsunami sources Identification WP1 - Tsunami sources Identification FFCUL group Marrakesh, Oct. 2007

WP1 WP1 - Tsunami sources Identification Task 1.1 – Review of sources of tectonic origin and Synthesis on tsunamigenic sources and characterisation Task 1.2 – Review of sources due to slope instabilities Task 1.3 – selection of the site for the deployment of a platform based on the GEOSTAR technology

OBJECTIVES -3D geometrical model of active faults from MCS - fault kinematics from fault geometry, focal mechanisms and plate kinematics -Estimation of active faults slip rate from detailed stratigraphy -Parametric tables for each active fault -Analogue modelling of tectonic active structures

TEAM - Pedro Terrinha - Vasco Valadares - Filipe Rosas - Cristina Roque - Henrique Duarte (NEAREST grantee from January 2007)

RESULTS - Tectonic map of the Gulf of Cadiz - Geomorphologic map - Seismo-stratigraphic models 80%
