Reference Model Maintenance Process (RMMP) Project Update February 16, 2006

What is the RMMP?  Evolves and modifies the FEA reference models  Ensures all Federal agencies have a mechanism by which to help shape the FEA reference models  Provides transparency into the reference model development process

What is the value of the RMMP?  The RMMP is needed to sustain an open collaborative process that will provide OMB with an agreed upon set of changes the political “muscle” to implement those changes  The RMMP facilitates cross agency LoBs and provides a cornerstone for agency collaboration for improved mission results and service

What is the current status?  Twenty (20) representatives from the following agencies are involved in the RMMP: GSA SSA ED Navy DOD EPA DOE IC OMB  Team lead: Rick Murphy  Method of collaboration: CORE.gov  Types of submissions: Substantial Minimal

What have we learned?  Consequences of Change Impact on OMB analytical processes Vendors  Identifying Trends Large scale modifications to the Service Reference Model (SRM) as it relates to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) seem to be emerging Requires further collaboration
